Electrolyte supplementation is often thought of as only needed by performance horses; however, any horse that sweats for a prolonged period of time, regardless of reason, will benefit from electrolyte supplementation. Horses sweat for various reasons, the most common being exercise, weather, stress, and illness.

When horses sweat, it results in the loss of not only water but also sodium chloride, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. If these are not replenished, it could result in a significant body deficit, and lead to overheating and compromise overall health & performance. However, a horse cant benefit from electrolyte supplementation if he wont eat it.

For horses that are picky eaters or sort through powdered supplements, Apple Elite Electrolyte Pellets is a simple way to encourage healthy water consumption and help maintain optimal hydration year-round, which is important for supporting proper digestion, muscle function, and recovery. Specially formulated to replace vital minerals that are lost through sweat during exercise, extremely hot & cold weather, and stressful situations.

Complete electrolyte formula contains a balanced electrolyte profile in an easy-to-feed pellet. Apple-flavored pellets are ideal for daily use and can be used up to 12 hours prior to exercise or travel to help minimize electrolyte loss.
